Getting the flu shot helped Americans stay healthy this winter season.<br />It failed to work against some strains of the virus, of course.<br />The CDC say the 2019-20 flu vaccine reduced doctor visits associated with the virus by 45% overall.<br />That includes a drop of 55% in children, according to UPI.<br />These figures are consistent with estimates of flu vaccine effectiveness from past seasons.<br />Most typically range from 40% to 60%, the CDC report noted.
